What is a Cake Smash Session?
Cake Smash sessions are the perfect way to capture your babies first birthday milestone. These fun, relaxed sessions are split into three parts.
Pre smash portraits – During this part of the session we will capture some beautiful portraits of your little one before the mess.
Smash time – This is where we introduce the cake and let the smashing commence.
Splash splash – Once your little one has had enough fun with cake smashing we will bring out the little bath to help clean them up a bit. This part is also super messy and fun, who doesn’t love bubbles 🙂
Cake smash session set ups are personalised to you and your little one. Perhaps your child has a favourite character or toy or maybe you would like to match a theme or colour scheme in your home. Whatever you choose I will work with you to provide the perfect set up. My session fee includes props and backgrounds to match your theme. I do ask parents to provide the cake for allergy reasons but I am always happy to help with ideas. Most parents also purchase an outfit for their child so that they can keep it after the session.
When do I book a session?
Some parents like the session to take place on or near their child’s birthday. Others prefer to do the session earlier so that they have the images back to use on party invites etc. I would suggest getting in touch at least one month before you would like the session to take place to secure your booking. This also gives me time to create the perfect set up for you and your little one. Session dates are limited so if you do have a set date in mind it may be better to book early to avoid disappointment.
What happens after the session?
After your session, I will go through your images and edit the best ones. I will then invite you back to the studio to view your gallery and select the images you would like to purchase. I offer a variety of digital collections and printed products, you can find pricing here. Samples of wall art and printed products are displayed in the studio. I am there to help with choices and to answer any questions you have.
